Not deducting credit from balance when used

I appreciate this is flagged for use up to 1.0.9.6.
I have it on 1.1.0.5 and everything works except when a customer uses their credit on an order. The amount is deducted from the order total correctly but not the customers credit balance which stays unchanged.
I have to manually apply a debit to their account to correct the situation.
