As previously noted about %50 of phones here do not show the Button [Apply] so the discount is dropped when progressing to the next step.
If however you go back the tick appears then forward or you can also force it by tapping anywhere except continue to 'update it'

A customer suggested 'Its applying on a blur not keyup event'

Updated for more stability on mobiles. It was already using blur event, but I changed "keypress" to "keydown" and added "event.keyCode" for more compatibility with older browsers.
