Greetings again,

We do have some smart guys here that will try everything to scam the shop owner.

-Add a product to the shopping cart;
-Apply a discount code, in this case for a specific product with free shipping; The code will remain at the input field.
-Select the shipping method;
-Select the payment method;
-At the checkout confirmation, go again to the shopping cart and remove the free shipped product. Empty the cart and go shopping for something else;
-Proceed to the checkout proccess with the new products and you will see that the discount code is still there and will be applied anyway.

and voilá... you have a discount on the other products...
