Neither “dashboard” nor “content” is a page name or file name which tells me where you are referring to. Please tell me the url or file name where you get it.
Please check your error log or enable error display. Post any related error.
It’s very difficult to provide help without knowing the exact error.
I could only guess that you missed to upload a file or that you uploaded a file to the wrong place. For example you uploaded a language file where it should be a main module file or viceversa. You could delete all discount code files and upload again taking care to upload all files to the correct directory.
Another possibility is that you are using a language which is not provided.

In the instructions it says folder "upload". Just to be clear I'm obviously not creating a folder "upload", I'm just uploading the files that are in the downloaded addon that are in "upload" right?
I've removed the files and I'm giving it another go now.

Fixed, had one missing file. Went through very carefully and found I missed one file. Took me a few times but done.

Got past the blank pages - down loaded 5.8.2 and installed into 1.0.8.20 added the discount codes - the discount box is not showing on the Checkout page (shopping_cart.php) but does show and work on the Payment From You page (checkout_payment.php)
PHP is 7.3.33

Ideas?

Make sure you have the shopping cart discount code content module installed and enabled.
Check for related errors in your error log.
