I followed update instructions, removed module, uploaded new files then tried to install, got the following error:

Fatal error: DB: [1062] Duplicate entry 'MODULE_CONTENT_HEADER_HOLIDAY_STATUS' for key 'uq_configuration_key' in /home/xxxxxxxxxxxxxx/public_html/shop/includes/system/versioned/1.0.8.1/database_core.php on line 44

Just checked and it works all correct for me.
Maybe you didn't uninstall the module before replacing the file(s).
To fix it, you can recover a database backup from before the update. Then try again.
or
Manually delete all entries in your configuration table which start with:
"MODULE_CONTENT_HEADER_HOLIDAY_"
Then install the module.

I did uninstall first.
I deleted the rows in the configuration table as you instructed above. All is working now.
