I have been bombarded with multiple account creations out of sudden. Just wondering if someone else has been facing this plague and how to solve it.

I think this will be linked to your other post about countries and zones. Fix that, the shipping will work. Its even weirder.
It only gives the problem with foreign countries with special characters like "Cádiz" in Spain. Other Spanish countries, i.e., does not gives any problem. Default coutry states with or without the special chars works perfectly.

db is set to utf8_unicode_ci but also tried to set it up to utf8mb4_unicode_ci with no luck. What workaround are you sugesting?

Well, it didnt fixed the problem but found what the problem is. It is a problem with states having special characters like accents and such. Any ideas how to fix this?
