Re: CE Phoenix flowchart

Thanks for the advice. If I were still working full time I'd do exactly as you suggest. However, I've been retired for 23 years and the client for whom I'm working at the moment is my grandson. It's a one-off :)

Re: Installation stuck on database import

For information and, I hope, help to other developers, I have three high spec laptops (each a different make) on my network, each running Wampserver for development purposes. CE Phoenix refused to install on all three, hanging in the same place every time. On one machine I also have XAMPP and, when ...

Re: Installation stuck on database import

I have been able to install Phoenix on my website but that's not a good place to be making changes and testing. A staging site on your host server is sometimes the best place - see User Guide https://phoenixcart.org/phoenixcartwiki/index.php?title=How_to_Create_a_Test_Shop Thanks for your help. Tha...

Re: Installation stuck on database import

MySQL uses port 3308. Is that a problem? I think this is answered in User Guide here: https://phoenixcart.org/phoenixcartwiki/index.php?title=How_to_Install Sorry, I should have said MariaDB uses port 3308 NOT MySQL. MySQL uses 3306. I've tried both databases with exactly the same result (specifyin...

Checked port 3306 is open ok. However, Wampserver reports that MySQL uses port 3308. Is that a problem?

Re: Installation stuck on database import

Wampserver Try a different localhost server. I use "uniform server" for offline hosting. I've used Wampserver for 20 years with no problems. I've had hundreds of templates including ecommerce programs install and run without error, including oscommerce. I doubt this is a server problem bu...

Installation stuck on database import

The message "The database structure is now being imported. Please be patient during this procedure." appeared and the processing wheel has been turning for half an hour.

Been out for a meal. Still stuck in the same place.

Any idea why it's failing to complete installation please?
