Sounds like you want to replace the Core "New Products for <month>" module with a module that simply shows products from a chosen category ? If that is so, you have all the jigsaw puzzle pieces you need already to make that new module. Did you look already at the Addons Area ? You are rig...

I believe that's an individual thing. What works for some does not for others, vice versa. Some like it hot, some like it cold. Just my opinion ... for myself. No pun intended.

I was simply wanting to make my phoenix install lean and agile by removing anything I do not need including their files and code. Phoenix is great but too bloated for my liking. I like to keep things lean and trim. Just my choice.
