Question on release candidate 1.09.0

Post by GdNico »

Hello

when you say in the posts about versions 1.0.8.19 and 20
"This is a release candidate for 1.0.9.0."

what does that mean exactly?

thank you and happy christmas !!

It means those versions have been released for testing as possible candidates for v1.0.9.0 before final release of v1.0.9.0.
For example, if no issues were reported for v1.0.8.19, it would have been released again as v1.0.9.0 with the only change being the revised version number.
However, issues were reported for v1.0.8.19 and were fixed so a new candidate for v1.0.9.0 was released, v1.0.8.20.
Any issues reported for v1.0.8.20 will be fixed in a v1.0.8.21 release.
If no issues are reported, it will be released again as v1.0.9.0 with the only change being the revised version number.

Thank you for these details, I didn't know the method of switching between a minor version to a major one.
