Possibly therein lie the problem. E.g. a brief glance at the code shows using <style></style> instead of inline styling which is known can/will cause issues in HTML e-mail formatting with some e-mail providers (internet search to learn more) although whether or not that is the cause of the specific issue is imponderable.

The preview page adds nl2br() so that is the likeliest reason for the extra gaps in the display.

after having a look at that link you provided, all the code there to negate the nl2br appears to be in PHP, can I still use that?

Also do I just stick it in there anywhere?

Or would it be better to just go through and take out all the <br> from my code?

Possibly therein lie the problem. E.g. a brief glance at the code shows using <style></style> instead of inline styling which is known can/will cause issues in HTML e-mail formatting with some e-mail providers (internet search to learn more) although whether or not that is the cause of the specific issue is imponderable.
Thank you for this advice. I am still pretty new to anything to do with code and although I can sometimes look at code and kinda work out somethings, I have no idea about most of it. lol :)

Every new line in your code is being converted to a <br>
Remove all the line breaks from your code, that is, so all your code is on 1 line.

Alternatively, if you are always going to use HTML in Newsletters, remove the nl2br from the code.

If that doesn't sound easy to you, then no, there is no easy way to do that.

Note that doing that only changes the preview. If you are getting doubled new lines in the actual email, then that is something caused by the client. Since you can't configure the client for emails that you don't send to yourself, you might be better off with removing the non-HTML newlines that apparently confuse some email clients. Either manually, automatically by configuring whatever you use to generate the HTML to not include them, or by getting one of the certified developers to make you something that automatically strips new lines on content submission. Doing that will also fix the preview without changing the nl2br.
