I just upgraded my cart from an old OScommerce. All went well in conversion of the database.
I installed under a test web site and now I am moving to a new website(new url). I backed up the database and installed it on my new URL.
When I run the index,.php all looks good, except, It appears that the program is accessing my original database on my test website and not on my new website.
I cannot find where the links to the new database reside. I see the admin/includes/configure.php,
however it points to my original database. What file has the program pointing to the new database??
Do I have to reinstall the program or is there a simple way to direct the program to my new database?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Steve

Re: configuration
You must update two files;
/includes/configure.php
&
admin/includes/configure.php
You state that the admin one points to your original database.
Both files need to point to the new database. Just amend the files appropriately.

Re: configuration
Thanks for the reply and I thought it was an easy question. However, when I did redirect to the correct database, I noticed that under the admin configuration drop down box that I cannot access all items except for administrator and store logos. all other ones are not accessible. Everything else appears OK. I reviewed the logs and found the error appears in the database configuration_ group :
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught mysqli_sql_exception: Unknown column 'configuration_group_help_link'
When I hover over the drop down box, it points to the database configuration_group, configure
configuration_group_id set to "12" where it should be "col-12", as a result, the layout breaks? There are 5 columns in my database
I believe this is where the error exists. However, I may be way off.
configuration_group_id. I see 1 through 16 so, should i edit each entry from 1 to col-1...16 to col-16 ??
Or what file should I modify?
BTW, i upgraded from 1.0.9.0 to 1.0.9.3
any information would be greatly appreciated

Steve

Re: configuration
Don't know the answer, so took the time to look at the GitHub repository which is always a good place to start to check to see what should be correct.
Looking at the database installation (.sql) file, shows:
https://github.com/CE-PhoenixCart/Phoen ... #L130-L140
which is what a 1.0.9.3 configuration_ group table should have as a structure.
Then looking further down that file, shows:
https://github.com/CE-PhoenixCart/Phoen ... #L835-L848
which is what a 1.0.9.3 configuration_ group table should have as data.
Guessing you have missed something in updating so compare that table structure and data to that in your installation and maybe try updating accordingly.
Interestingly, comparing the sql file in 1.0.9.4
https://github.com/CE-PhoenixCart/Phoen ... #L130-L140
to 1.0.9.0
https://github.com/CE-PhoenixCart/Phoen ... #L130-L138
shows the addition of 2 columns, one of which is the column mentioned in your error.
Re: configuration
Thanks again for the suggestion. From your advice from above. My database, configuration_group
show 5 columns. Looks like I am missing 2 columns, the help link and addons link. I don't know where or whick update this was changed, however, if I add these 2 columns, Do you think it will work and is there any other file or link that I should be aware of. Thanks again for all your help.

Re: configuration
So your 1.0.9.3 database is incorrect.
As already advised, "maybe try updating accordingly".
Re: configuration
Thanks for the advise. Yes, it works. I am always cautious about updating. I take more time than most as I am somewhat a novice to the new programming. I go way back with the IBM system 36, RPG, etc.. Again thanks I really appreciate the help. :-)
