How do I avoid making Core changes in english.php?

I would like to make changes to the following lines in english.php:

const ENTRY_COMMENTS = 'Anything we need to know?';
const ENTRY_COMMENTS_PLACEHOLDER = 'Comment here...';

What is the correct way to make those changes to english.php without actually making changes to the Core?

Copy english.php to templates/override/includes/languages/ (assuming "override" is the template you have selected). Then make your changes

Thanks!! That is easy enough.

Should I copy the entire file, or just put the lines that I want to change? If I put the entire file, I will just have to compare to the core copy to the override copy with each upgrade?

The entire file. Override tells the system to use that file instead of the original.
I keep a list of overridden files, and search for those in the update-packages, to know when I must carry over changes.
