I found this card accept module was for edge if not mistaken, addon made by Burt.
You upload custom images to a images/card folder then in admin you can drag images around to display a larger payment image inside a column box.
For me the paypal, applepay and so on icons is of no use

This module was made by Harald for osCommerce 2.3.4 - when I made the very first CE version, it survived the changeover.

At some point over the years of CE, myself (and others) were working really hard on the speed of the CE version to make it as fast as possible for loading. This module was shown to be a speed bottleneck so it got removed from the core.
