We looked at Square and Sumup, and thought Square was a bit better as Sumup didn't do customer not present payments. Since signing up for Square we have had 2 customers in a few months want to pay over the phone, so its not a high number. Total sales are just over £15-00 so small really. Square also came out on top with POS software and equipment needed for a shop all bought as a bundle, and there was no long contracts for the card machine. We had a local shop gave me a demo of what it could do, and it did look good. It can even update stock levels between the online store and the physical shop if setup correctly.

Thank you very much. Its a case of trying to find a suitable premises that is affordable. There must be something out there locally.

I forgot to mention that I did eventually get this to work with help from @zipurman . After a few emails, code was sent that went further than I requested and the system now works. So thanks to the community for the suggestions and to @zipurman for the code. I will be back later for more work when it comes to time to update the website again.
