Re: Default images folder
You can change the default images directory in admin/ext/filemanager/config/config.php
After that, you can add subfolders inside with the "New Folder" Button:

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Default images folder
Hi Denzel,
That I did see and I changed the admin default images to the right name so it does find the images folder just fine. When I want to add a primary image (or change one) I click and it takes me to the images folder but I can not see any image folders created inside, just individual images and so can not have a primary image like "my_new_folder/image-3" as I can not access the individual folders. Just a bit perplexed. The older version was so easy.

Re: Default images folder
Hi artfulweb,
the filemanager should take you to the folder where the image is located. If none is choosed, then the default folder. This works fine for me. I have hundreds of subfolders and switching between is possible easily (first tile in subfolder always is "back"). Maybe there are permission issues?

Re: Default images folder
Hi Denzel,
I am sorry, my answer did not post yesterday! I found my problem: on opening apparently only images are shown, I did not realize that I needed to go to the upper right hand corner and select "ALL" to have the folders shown! Once I did it works of course as planned.
Thanks so much for this add-on which was cruelly lacking and your quick follow-up. Now I can put order in the thousands of images on my server again. Great work!

Re: Default images folder
Morning,
I'm trying to use this on my live store but getting the error 'Not Enough Memory' when trying to upload. Works fine on my local test version though.
Any ideas?

Re: Default images folder
I thought I would take a look at this new version as I used the older one on my current site and I have to say it is probably the most complicated thing I have ever had to try to figure out how to use. All I really need is a drop down list so I am able to select where the image is stored in already created folders. There just seems to be so much extra bulk that appears to be not needed.
I think for now I will be looking for an alternative. Sorry to be so harsh but any software must do the job easily. The older version worked really well.

Re: Default images folder
Also looking for a far simpler way to save images to like manufacturer folder or so.
Perhaps like use manufacturer name prefix when editing or adding product image.
When creating a manufacturer, also create images sub folder for the manufacturer.
When editing a product give a simple dropdown selection for default or manufacturer folder for the product image prefix - done.
Example /Fiacre/orange-1.jpg
Not sure if a addon is doable or propose to add something to core.

Rather than manufacturer we used category on our old site.Pierre_P wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 6:30 pm Also looking for a far simpler way to save images to like manufacturer folder or so.

Re: Default images folder
I used to use category as well but have since switched to manufacturer and for my business that have been extremely helpful in recognizing old images and products we no longer carry. You can certainly do it by category but most of the products we carry fit into many different categories which just complicated the process for us resulting in directories full of outdated images.
