I think it would be helpful for many shop owners, including myself. I am based in Canada, so yes, we are affected by tariffs, and Canadian customs has implemented an online process to pay in advance. An add-on like this may help with transparency, enabling customers to understand the increase in shipping costs.burt wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 4:22 pm It ended up more or less as per the images above. Key differences in finalised version;
1. The "tariff amount" ($0.60) in the image above is in a muted text colour unless/until the checkbox is checked
1a. The "tariff percent" is now also shown in the text.
2. If the order is a "tariff paid" order, we set the order status to "Duty Paid" status
3. We added "very in your face" messaging on admin/orders.php to help admin users see that this is an order that Tariff has been paid on;
3a. a new column on the default admin/orders.php list
3b. a big "red" alert on the individual admin/order page
I'm not certain if this will be interesting to other shopowners, please let me know.
Even if not for use as is, it could be converted rather easily to something else.
EG "gift wrap this order" or any other `thing` which the customer can choose or not choose.
FYI, DHL is shipping to the USA from Canada and is very efficient. The cost is higher than the postal service, but as we are facing another postal strike here, alternative shipping providers are most welcome.
Thanks for all of your help Burt!
