I have a bit of a unique situation where I'm trying to set up the cart for collectibles/antiques/etc.

Obviously it's a lot of work because in many cases there is only one of any given item available and they aren't the kind of items that the potential customer can easily look for at other retailers.

I don't want to get into what I see are a lot of potential problems with an auction type site.
Specifically, having say 300 people all show up on the day after closing, looking for their items.


Is there any way in Phoenix Cart, to allow the customer to submit a 'best offer' amount if they think the posted price is too high? Essentially, negotiate the price?


Any ideas, advise or suggestions appreciated.

Personally, I would keep it simple by just informing customers on the product page to contact you (with an offer) using either email or telephone. If a deal is then made for an 'offer' price, you could then use the Discount Codes addon - app.php/addons/free_addon/discount_codes - to issue a code to the customer so they could then checkout on the website with the discounted 'offer' price.

Or you could contact one of the certified developers to develop an addon for you.
