Question about Table Adress_book

I noticed today (after going live), that the adress_book_id in the address_book table is a autoincrement, in the early oscommerce day, the adressbook_id (default_id) was 1 and if a customer make a second adresse_book_entry, the adress_book_id was 2 (and the primary key was over the customers_id and Adressbook_id)
so normaly with 1 adress, the adress_book_id was "1"
in phoenix cart i noticed that the adress_book_id is autoincrement and so it's goes every new adressebook +1, so a new customers gets as a adress_book_id a higher number (and so the default_adress_book_id in the customers_table is also this higher number)
is that behavior correct or do i have a bug and it should be like it was in the early oscommerce days?
thank you very much to let me know, because i'm worried that this behavior is other then before.... (everything works....but the fact that before it was standard a 1 and now it's a autoincrement worries me)
thank you!
