Installation impossible without an readable error

Post by Thommy_F »

I have to update a OSC 2.3.3.4 shop.

I'd like to use CE Phoenix because the data-transfer should work best I think.

So I tried to install CE Phoenix. But in Step 2 of the install process I get a red error message. but in "error occures" nothing is postet.

Any ideas

As I needed a extremely quick solution, I has to change things in the mean time.

But there are 2 more shops I have to update, and I'd like to use CEP as I said.

To generate a screenshot I tried to install a aditional instance on the same Server in a different directory with a different database.

Now the Installation-Screen looks like that (for nearly one hour now! :?: :?: :?:

I seem to recall others experiencing the same - I'll look for the thread. Maybe it was something with the version of maria_db / MySQL? Anyway, I'll try to find it.

Maybe something here: viewtopic.php?p=9578#p9578 ?

I think I've had the same issue once, when installing locally, but aborting and retrying did the trick - however, it may have been a dream :)

The last time I experienced this error I got mysql error 1071 - Specified key was too long; max key length is 1000 bytes
The error was gone after I changed the database collation to utf8mb4_unicode_ci
It was discussed here.

Thanks für your posts so far.

Yea, it was the "error 1071-thing"!

I found out by trying to import the phoenix.sql manualy with PHPMyAdmin.

so I solved the problem in my case by changing the 255-Values to 125 in the catalog/install/phoenix.sql file.

Than I restarted the installation in my webbrowser.

So far it worked for me.
