Sorry to be a nuisance again.

For what ever reason I am unable to access most of the settings in the configuration area within the admin back end. This may be related to the problem I was having accepting PayPal payments where the data may have been corrupted after a server change by the hosts a while back.

When I click on 'Bootstrap setup' in the configuration dropdown list I get directed to a Page which has a message saying 'You do not have permission to enter this page.' The page url is https://mywebsite/myadmin/configuration.php?gID=16. I am assuming that this is right as the ID matches the ID in the configuaration_group table.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to regain the use of this section of the admin.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I can see all the information in the database. I have also tried repairing the database but INNO databases do not allow this action.

Could you try a different one in the same menu ?
EG " My Store " which is aka /admin/configuration.php?gID=1

I wonder if the host has turned up some security setting that is denying access to configuration.php - something similarish (host denied access to info.php) reported here; viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1972

Check with the host to see if they've added some weird security rules. If this is the case and they won't roll back, here is an option;

1. rename admin/configuration.php to (eg) blah.php (and its language file of course)
2. open up admin/includes/boxes/configuration.php and change the TWO instances of configuration.php to blah.php

I think that would be about the only changes needed, maybe. I guess you could try it anyway.

I'd get the hosts view first though.

Thanks Gary. Literally only the top Administrators link in the drop down would work. All the others resulted in the error. It only happened in the Configuration setting section. All other areas worked as they should.

Contacting the hosts seems to have got something done over night. Apparently they have checked the server and settings for the database server, reset the PHP settings, and now everything seems to work as it should. No further explanation from them. Site now works on php7.3 and php7.4. There must have been a setting somewhere not right but have no idea what.

Time to crack on and get the next upgrade done I think, then get everything on php8. Its just finding the time.
