Newsletter Subscription

Hello,

Is there a way to automatically subscribe all new users to receive newsletters without giving the newsletter subscription option in the registration form? My aim is to auto subscribe users but let them opt out if they wish later by updating their preferences. Is this doable?

Cheers.

Without consent, that is not legal in most countries including U.K.
https://www.gov.uk/marketing-advertisin ... -marketing
Without consent, besides being against the law, it would, at best, be a sure fire way to annoy and alienate new users and, at worst, your newsletter possibly reported as SPAM which can then cause long term damage to your business reputation.
It could legally be done by informing users clearly on the registration form that registration includes automatic subscription to newsletters and, by registering, the user consents to this but this would only likely deter registration and harm your business.
Better strategies would be to increase subscription consent by renaming "newsletter" to something more imaginative that would be desired and explain the benefits of receiving it. Create content that is exclusive for subscribers, e.g. tips, tutorials, product knowledge etc.
