How about Customer Segmentation into VIP, Regular, Active, Inactive, Dormant

With filtering (show me all VIP accounts, who ordered between X and Y dates).
And output the Segment to CSV file. Eg to easily upload to Mailchimp.

This segmentation tool is designed to give a clear and detailed view of your customer base by grouping customers into meaningful categories such as Active, Inactive, VIP, Dormant, and Regular. By filtering based on recent order activity or custom date ranges, you can easily identify which customers are most engaged and which may need re-engagement strategies.
The tool provides key metrics for each customer, including their total spend, average order value, number of orders, and the date of their last purchase. This information allows shopowners to make informed decisions when planning marketing campaigns, reward programs, or follow-up emails. For example, identifying VIP customers who have made several high-value purchases can help focus loyalty incentives where they matter most. Likewise, spotting dormant or inactive customers makes it easier to target those who might respond to a special offer or reminder.
A convenient CSV export feature is also available. This allows you to download a segmented list of customers and use that data in external systems, such as email marketing platforms or CRM tools. It saves time and reduces the need for manual data work, giving store managers more room to act on insights rather than gather them.
Overall, this tool improves visibility into customer behavior, encourages data-driven marketing, and supports more personalized customer engagement strategies. It is a practical addition for any store owner who wants to build stronger relationships and grow revenue through better understanding of their customer base.

Gary I think you have come up with another winner. Will you be able to create other segments?...I'm thinking of say customers purchasing a particular product or group of products where a shop owner might want to send out a special promotion or related communication based on that segment.

Dan, yes that should be straightforward to implement. I'll try tomorrow.
I'm still at the hard-coded stage (ie proof of concept) on this, and any type of ideas/feedback like this is *
golden*.

Yes, you can segment, then download a CSV to see these customers.

particular product
This segments customers who bought Oranges.

Note that you could go further and say "show me customers who bought Oranges between 1st June and Today" (for example).

As it stands, the Segmentation is coded so that all shops Tags would be exact the same - in other words the Tag Groups are baked into the Segmentation script. That's not flexible enough, hence why the Customer Tagging was coded up to be flexible per shop based on shopowners rules.
Now that I have that Customer Tagging system in place ... this Segmentation Reporting is also now updated to work with it.
Downside is that it means having to run two different addons; Tagging and Segmentation
Upside; incredible flexibility
