Raiwa, I currently use the recover carts addon Gary wrote ages ago. I tend to leave it for about 3 or 4 days before contacting the customers which gives them unpressured time to make a purchase. I then email them using the addon and leave the order in the recover carts addon for a further 7 days, before deleting it. Again it gives them time to complete their order or contact me with a reason why they didn't complete the sale. It's surprising how many do actually bother to make contact.raiwa wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 9:16 am For the next update I'm considering to include a hook which auto deletes the abandoned stripe orders a certain time after creation.
I would like to know which time lapse users would consider useful. I would add a configuration entry to the stripe module which let's the user set the time lapse when to delete them. Would this be desired to be set by days or by hours?
Maybe it's interesting not to delete them too soon to allow the store owner to analyse the abandoned orders. So I believe a day base would be good.
The script would be executed once per admin session (if on day base) on admin order page load.
Thoughts?
With Stripe, and PayPal, when a customer does not complete the order for what ever reason, then does come back to complete it while the items are still in their basket, the website creates a new order, which leaves the one marked as preparing sat there. If this is the one that you are considering removing then as long as it is removed after checking another completed order has been placed then it should be fine to delete.
