PayPayl is a pain and they can be outlaws sometime. So looking for something reputable and reliable, no bad players like PayPal who can put a gun to your head whenever they like. So many complaints. @riawa has helped me get Stripe going and it's looking good. Better still, it's a U.K company and I can sue them if anything fishy goes on. PayPal is almost lawless.

No, Stripe is an American company with an office in Republic of Ireland.bigbrandoh wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 8:08 pm Stripe going and it's looking good. Better still, it's a U.K company and I can sue them if anything fishy goes on.

I didn't know that Stripe is an American firm, thanks for pointing that out. They seem to be a better lot than PayPal. I've removed PayPal from my shop. By the way, can I ask you a question? Is there a way to configure my order numbers in phoenix instead of just the 2 digit incremental numbers?heatherbell wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 6:18 amNo, Stripe is an American company with an office in Republic of Ireland.bigbrandoh wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 8:08 pm Stripe going and it's looking good. Re: PayPal Alternative for Payments
We have tried Stripe and SagePay but we now use SagePay form without issues.
You have to open a payment provider account with them and also open a merchant account but fees are lower than PayPal.
Not sure what you want to do but see https://phoenixcart.org/phoenixcartwiki ... r_New_Shop

Talking about payments, I'm loving the Stripe platform. Customers can complete payment on my website instead of travelling all the way to PayPal and waiting for a flight back to my website without any covid quarantine requirements. Brilliant!!!

Re: PayPal Alternative for Payments
I wonder if others here use Wise.com?
https://wise.com/
They offer online personal and business accounts with debit cards, multi currency accounts, direct debits and a lot more. I was just looking through my business account settings and see the accounts can receive payments using public/secret keys and webhooks just like Stripe.
Perhaps an addon for this provider is desirable.
