We were thinking of this not so long ago, not so much for the main product pages but more for the account pages.
Everything we could find online, and including on chatgpt and other AI systems say that a page title, hopefully an H1 tag, should be on every page both to help the user and the search engines understand what the page is about. I get that is the case on important pages, but is it really necessary on the pages like the checkout pages, or the account pages, that are usually hidden to the search engines and only show the user where they are.
The biggest disadvantage to not having a page title text is that users may wonder what page they are on, but if its in the breadcrumb, how many users actually look there.
Titles in Pages, where there is a Breadcrumb. Needed ?

For "inner" pages, SEO is of zero concern of course.14Steve14 wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2026 3:31 pm We were thinking of this not so long ago, not so much for the main product pages but more for the account pages.

In the images above I placed the H1 directly into the breadcrumb;
Code: Select all
<nav aria-label="breadcrumb">
<ol class="breadcrumb align-items-center">
<li class="breadcrumb-item">
<a href="/" class="text-decoration-none d-inline-flex align-items-center">
<i class="fas fa-home"></i><span class="sr-only"> Home</span>
</a>
</li>
<li class="breadcrumb-item">
<a href="index.php" class="text-decoration-none d-inline-flex align-items-center">
Catalog
</a>
</li>
<li class="breadcrumb-item active text-body-secondary" aria-current="page">
<h1 class="fw-semibold text-warning d-inline-flex align-items-center m-0 p-0 text-decoration-underline link-offset-3" style="font-size: 1.2rem;">
Privacy & Cookie Policy
</h1>
</li>
</ol>
</nav>

Only other concern may be those that use screen readers, not that we have that many, but I am aware of one or two that rely on these readers.

It isn't 2015
Just override the pages etc into whatever Template you are using and remove the <h1
