Thought I would do this post in an attempt to see how many people are actually here and why.
If you see this post just reply and say Hi and whether you are a user or a developer and anything else you want to add. It will only take 1 min of your time!
I'll Start - I'm a user who is thinking of migrating my 15 year old store to phoenix, and I dabble a little in addons.
Your Turn........

Re: Soooo Quiet in Here
Been here since the beginning. Contributed a lot to ideas for modules that are now part of core and still occasionally have a few ideas. Have updated my site from what was oscommerce, through the old community versions and have been using phoenix for years, and am currently upgrading my site from 1.0.9.1 to the latest originally 1.1.0.6. and already upgraded the test site to 1.1.0.7.
Having great fun getting AI to help with the updates, and also to create some helpful bits of code and modules. Getting near the stage when its time to stop messing with it and try the first database upgrade on a test database before messing up the original.

Hi
Been here since @burt started converting osC to Bootstrap way back ...
Shop owner, a DIY, must control everything, kind of guy. Not a developer, but willing to hack the core to do what I want things to do.

Re: Soooo Quiet in Here
I presume you mean this weeks on the forum .. I agree it is quiet in the forums - Gave it allready a thought: Shopowners busy runnung their business? - Vacations? - Waiting for the next big thing? - Shopowners allready find what they are looking for (? ... naaahhh) - Hesitation to ask (silly) questions? - Very busy with Vibecoding (? .. might well be - questions before asked in the forums now answered by AI .. that might very well be the case) - just lack of users .... I don't knowMort_Lemur wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2026 2:33 pm Thought I would do this post in an attempt to see how many people are actually here and why.

Re: Soooo Quiet in Here
I've been hanging around here since 2007 when I first install oSC to use for my ecommerce site. I'm a shop owner and also like to do a little coding just for the fun of it. In that regard, I know just enough to be dangerous.

Re: Soooo Quiet in Here
Started with OSC RC2 in 2009 and been on this path through bootstrap, frozen and numerous versions to 1.1.0.6 live. Not a coder but will amend code to do what I want, keeping records within the changed files. Shop has many addons, paid and free none of which I have created. Happy to help with testing projects that interest me.

I date back to 2003 or 2002, although I was probably using a different username. I think I started using ecartz in 2004. When I started, you could choose between using The Exchange Project 2.1 download or milestone 1.

Re: Soooo Quiet in Here
Hi
Came "here" in 2019 (I think). I worked part-time at a wine-store who had an old OSC 2.3 webshop. When we wanted to change the price of shipping, we had to contact the developer who had originally made the webshop. That sounded nuts to me, so I began digging, found out about ftp and became dangerous
At the forums I could see the future was with Phoenix, so I convinced my boss to let me create a new webshop based on 1.0.4.0, did that in 2020, coded quite a few custom things and shoehorned some old add-ons into it. In 2023 (I think) we updated to 1.0.8.20. Then my studies were at an end, and I became a full-time minister in a church. Now I'm trying to use the time I can find to update the shop and the add-ons I have created for it, while contributing here whenever and with whatever I can. It's been very little, but I keep hoping that more time will come. My kids are getting older and older, which eventually may result in more spare time.

Re: Soooo Quiet in Here
One of the old farts from Y2K days.
osCommerce was then called The Exchange Project, and there was no forum, just a newsgroup and email.
User #69 (oo-er missus) on the old osC forum.
Trying to keep the essence of those days alive - it's hard, and getting harder.
