Recommended Addons

Please link to ONE addon per post, that you recommend as broadly useful (
addon url is required).
Please give one sentence as to why you recommend or use the addon (
some small explanation is required).
Rules (to reduce the workload)
- Addon must be available in the addons area - Free or Commercial, Pro or Code Co-op, does not matter.
- Please do NOT recommend your own addons.
- Please do NOT thank your own addons when someone else posts them.
- One Addon per post. Of course you are welcome to post as many times as necessary.
- Please give a thanks if you agree with another users recommendation -> thanks = your yes vote.
An addon needs 5 (five) to graduate to Recommended.
- No Chit Chat about recommended addons please -> if you do not agree with a recommendation, do not thank the poster.
Please note that not sticking to these few simple rules may result in your post being removed!
TL:DR;
Anyone can post a recommendation for ONE addon per post.
If you agree with someone elses recommendation, give a thanks.

Please note, as each candidate addon moves to Recommended status, it will be deleted from this thread - but I will somehow make it obvious which addon(s) have made the cut in this thread...
Level Playing Field:
This stops early/popular addons from sitting at the top forever and swallowing up all the visibility/votes.
Keeps the Thread Small & Active:
Instead of sprawling into a 20-page thread ( in this forum, I wish,

) where late submissions get buried on page 15, the thread stays short. Users only ever see the current candidates fighting for a spot.
No Unnecessary-Voting:
Deleting the post prevents users from continuing to waste "thanks" on an add-on that has already made it to the official list.
Natural Queue System:
The thread essentially becomes a dynamic pipeline - addons enter, gather votes, and exit into the official Recommended area [

The first add-on I always install is "Admin Menu Add Text" by
@zipurman
This hook add the text back to the admin menu links. When I have the same icons on multiple sites but the destinations differ, I easily get mixed up. This add-on lets me work faster without making mistakes, which is why I recommend it.

app.php/addons/free_addon/kissit_image_thumbnailer/
A thumbnailer can reduce load-times and is a great help for those, who aren't spending too long on their images. KISSIT Image Thumbnailer does the job quite well.

app.php/addons/free_addon/ce_phoenix_upgrader_utility/
The upgrader utility makes it very simple and easy to upgrade the core. Though I sometimes code small things, I find myself prefering to update with the upgrader, than "manual"

app.php/addons/free_addon/purchase_without_account/
PWA is one of the most downloaded free add-ons, and allows customers to shop without setting up a profile/account/user and try to remember the password. When I shop online, I almost always shop with guest-accounts. When it's not possible I hate coming back two years later with no idea what the password could be.

app.php/addons/free_addon/smtp_auth_%28by_phpmailer%29/
More and more hosts are pushing towards SMTP and this add-on saved me (despite my own errors, that send me troubleshooting for way too long).

app.php/addons/supporters_code/s08e05_fuzzy_search/
Especially for stores with many products, and some that are not too easy to spell. This gives helpful suggestions (and can even be configured in "fuzzyness")
