Presenting dealer reviews on Google

Post by Philo2005 »

I recently received a mail from Google:
Presenting dealer reviews on Google

While I never receive a google review from a client, I am looking for another solution to get reviews show in google.
I assume my clients have no google account to add such a review, so they are not able to do that, even if I send them a mail!

There is a number of 3rd party reviewers, so as Trusted Shops which will be shown on google.
There is even a code add-on for the old oscommerce see:
https://help.etrusted.com/hc/en-gb/arti ... osCommerce

Questions:
1. Does anybody made experience with Trusted Shop or another 3rd party reviewers?
2. Does somebody adapted the Trusted Shop Interface code to CE Phoenix?

Thank you for any help.

Assuming you are collecting reviews (ie, at your own site)...you could aggregate them into a Feed for Google.
That would, I think, be more valuable to a shopowner than passing it off to a third party to do that job.

Most of our reviews are verified on Trustpilot, where we have a free account. Gary created a few modules for the queued email system, and a hook for the customers page, and we do seem to get a response from those. Whether anyone actually reads them we have no idea.

We did try sending a google review link to email subscribers, and also adding something to the bottom of the order update emails, but with google there is no controlling who leaves a review, and we only ever got one review. so stopped doing it.

We did get info from Trusted Shops but never followed it up as we kept getting sales calls trying to sell us upgrades before we even got anyhting set up. That was a few years ago, so things may have changed.
