Im in the process of migrating to Phoenix from OSC 2.3.4, but first need to get the new site "Fully Loaded" so I am recreating what I class as my essential must have features. Some of these I will post as free addons, some I won't as they overlap with mods produced by phoenix developers.
One of these which I will post when completed is a simple google feed mod. - I have got to the stage where the system creates the .txt file to upload, tests the server connection, but then obviously fails as I am working on a test site and cannot upload any real products to google shopping.
Would anyone be prepared to test this for me? If so I will PM a .zip file of the system

Re: Tester Needed - Googlefeed Module
If it's an xml feed, there are a few validators you can check it with if you put the output somewhere online - some of them may also work on the plain text format (with which I've never worked)Mort_Lemur wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 4:47 pm One of these which I will post when completed is a simple google feed mod. - I have got to the stage where the system creates the .txt file to upload, tests the server connection, but then obviously fails as I am working on a test site and cannot upload any real products to google shopping.
Here's one I've used before: https://ecomseo.co/tools/shopping-feed-validator
- Overreports a bit from a UK perspective (e.g. no brand gives an error while merchant centre doesn't)
Is there any advantage to pushing the feed file to google rather than scheduling them to collect it from your site?

Re: Tester Needed - Googlefeed Module
Thanks John, I will take a look at them, but was also looking for some feedback on how the system runs rather than just if it works.
I used to have a scheduled fetch, but realised that if google makes changes to the feed format required that the feed may be disallowed and no notification was received. (meaning I dropped off google for 2 weeks). Also I have a system which fetches .csv stock updated from suppliers a couple of times a day and like to manually stay in control of updating the feed to match. Is there any advantage to pushing the feed file to google rather than scheduling them to collect it from your site?
