I just installed this add-on which is still on the old forum.
In the seach-bar is gives a drop-down of (8) products or catagories containing the searchword.
(8) can be adapted, like more parameters can be.
You can check it in my live store, switch it to english (you probably know-how) and search for "grip".

It's a very nice addon just droped-on-top of my 1079 store. I am not sure if it will work on newer versions.
Thanks @kgtee and @rainer

If it is not yet ready to be released 'into the wild' in the Addons Library, it can be uploaded in this private forum so hopefully others will 'clean and polish' it and re-upload it.

Re: advanced search by type ahead
Remember that a search function can be a double edged sword i.e. good and bad consequences.
At best, the customer finds what they entered in search box and consequently sees nothing else in your shop. Supermarkets often place common products like bread and milk at the back of their shops for this reason so customers have to pass many other products before they find them.
At worst, the customer enters the wrong term or product name in the search box, does not find it and leaves.

Re: advanced search by type ahead
Most of my customers call my store "the candy shop".
They usually browse a lot of pages, so in my case I think it's for the better.
But yes, like ANY add-on, it has an upside and a downside. Like any add-on.
Did I mention like any addon? :-)
