GDPR for Pulse Events shows the User the Events you have recorded. While Phoenix Cart has excellent GDPR tools, I noticed a gap: customers currently have no way to see or export this data under their GDPR "Right to Access" request.
What this module does:
- Displays the customer's own Pulse events inside their GDPR compliance section.
- Includes Pulse events in the standard data export - so when a customer requests all their data, they now receive their full Pulse history (product views, searches, etc.) inside the usual JSON file.
Why this is necessary:
Under
GDPR Article 15 (Right of Access by the Data Subject), customers have the right to obtain confirmation of whether their personal data is being processed, and receive a copy of that data. Since Pulse logs are tied directly to `customers_id`, they qualify as personal data.
If a customer asks for all their data and you only provide orders and account info - but fail to provide their tracked browsing history within your store - you are technically not fulfilling the full request.
This module:
- does
not automatically delete or anonymize Pulse data.
- does
not restrict processing.
- does provides
visibility and export capability to the customer.
How it works:
The module hooks into Phoenix's existing GDPR export routine and adds a new section where the customer can view and download all Pulse events associated with their account.
This ensures your store is fully transparent about what internal analytics you're collecting on logged-in users.
This was a sponsored addon in the
Code Co-op. It was delivered to all active Co-op members for
FREE. You can still
join the Co-op, but it's too late to get this particular Addon as part of your membership.
