Admin Login Create Administrator Not Working

An update...
Possibly worse than I thought...

It seems that it's not just the admin login it's everything almost nothing wants to talk to the database and yes both configure files are correct. I'm guessing that it's more likely the database that has become corrupted somehow linked to the store stopping working last Wednesday and my subsequent conversations with the hosting team to try and correct it

The same thing happened to me.

I followed the instructions on the following page

Basically I deleted the admin user from the database with phpmyadmin.

When you enter the administration page, you must create new user and password.

The information is useful - unfortunately I already had .ht admin protection and trying to create a new password wasn't working - it looks like the database has become corrupt

Maybe worth checking if the coalition has changed - if I remember correctly Phoenix defaults to utf8mb4 Unicode ci. Not sure if relevant, but I suppose you take most suggestions by now?

You probably need to temporarily disable the .ht admin protection by deleting the .htaccess file (save a backup copy first). You can put it back after you create the new entry, once it has the same username and password as the .ht admin protection.

I did do that Matt but have now discovered that access to the database is the problem - currently I haven't checked if it is a corrupted database (which I did do a repair on - it didn't make a difference) or one (or more) of the files has been corrupted in my live store.

As I could see this was about to take a bit of time I've updated the orders on my test store database and made my test store live - making various .htaccess redirects to point my url to the test store

Just got to get to work now to find out what actually happened
