Re: s07e01 - Wishlist / Faves
I've been wondering about this Question @Pierre_P - would it not be a bit strange if customers have added things, for them to come back in the future to find they are gone (removed by shopowner) ?

Re: s07e01 - Wishlist / Faves
Amazon agrees with you. I have wish-list items there that have been out of stock for something like twenty years.
Lowes agrees with Pierre. They delete my shopping cart every couple months. But they also allow people to email their shopping carts. So after I rebuilt the shopping cart they deleted, I emailed it to myself.
It seems to me that you had an add-on that would do that (email a shopping cart). Together those things might make a paid add-on. Regularly delete old items from the wish-list, emailing the customer the deleted items. So if they want, they can come back and buy the items without having to rediscover them.

I don't recall an "email cart" mod, but I do vaguely recall a "save cart" mod I did back in one of the old 28d things. I might dig it out and see if I can update it for modern Phoenix. Thanks Matt.

Phoenix version 1.9.0. PHp8
This may be my install but I had a customer contact me about items going missing from his wishlist.
When I added items into my wishlist all went well. I did notice that when an item is later marked as out of stock, the item was removed from the wishlist. I would have thought that the stock tick would change to a cross or something and the item would remain in the wishlist.
Can someone check on a version that is not one that has been updated to the latest 1.0.9.2 pro version and let me know whether theirs is working correctly.

I haven't looked at this addon for a very long time. If I remember rightly;14Steve14 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 9:01 am Phoenix version 1.9.0. PHp8

Stock
Red X tick is for `stock level`, not `status`.
If > 0 green tick therefore available, else (zero or fewer so unavailable) red X
Status
Removes the product from the list entirely as the product is no longer available to buy, I probably coded it that way to save on time/effort of coding (put another way, the product is not showing at your shop, so should not show in any wishlist). I'm certain that piece of the logic could be recoded, but it might not be straightforward.

Re: s07e01 - Wishlist / Faves
Thanks Gary.
At least its not me then.
It was just that a customer said that items keep being removed from their wishlist and he thought it was a place where he could store items ready for when he needed to buy them, and thought that if they went out of stock they would still remain in his list so he could buy them when they returned back into stock which seems logical.
I get that the tick is for stock, not status, but when there is no stock the item gets removed so it will not show a red cross if we have stock settings in the store that we have.

Re: s07e01 - Wishlist / Faves
I think I understand what you're saying.
How this addon works, (assume here that the product has been added to one or more customers wishlist);
If product in "ON" status, the product will show in the wishlist, either with a green tick or a red x.
If product is "OFF" status, the product is removed from wishlist.
In general, in most Phoenix installations, Status of a Product determines if the product is to be shown to the customer (eg in menu system and on the product_info page), regardless of that products stock number. If Status is set to "OFF", the product is not shown to the customer, hence it should not be shown in the customers wishlist.
It's definitely likely that simply deleting the product from wishlists when product status is turned to off is not desired behaviour, that's how the addon appears to have been coded.
It might be fairly straightforward to simply have the product not appear (in wishlists) when Status is OFF, then reappear if status is turned back ON. Could also potentially have a message advising the customer that 1 or more products have been temporarily removed from Wishlist as they are not presently available, but that they will return to wishlist when available again.

Re: s07e01 - Wishlist / Faves QUESTIONS/SUPPORT
While it will save attributes to wishlist, if none are selected it won't save to wishlist. Hence some work needed!

I don't know the code well enough to see where the check for required attributes is
Once I know that I can fix it.

Re: s07e01 - Wishlist / Faves QUESTIONS/SUPPORT
This will work when a product has attributes
Code: Select all
$('.btn-product-info.btn-buy').on('click', function(e) {
$(':input[required]').on('focusout', function() {
$(this).val() == '' && ($(this).focus());
});
var d = $('form[name="cart_quantity"]').serialize();
do_cart(d);
e.preventDefault();
