Hello All...
It has been a couple of years since I have worked on a phoenix site and so have been trying to install a clean version of 1.0.8.20...
I think I have set everything up correctly, I had all the green ticks to start with;
Database server is localhost
and all the other fields have been double checked (password, user name etc)
but the install is just stuck on "Testing Database Connection.."
are there some obvious things that I should look at to see if I can fix this?

Make 100% sure that the settings are correct, and that you have the relevant settings* set up in your hosting control panel. *database, user, user connected to database.
Alternatively if your host offers "Softaculous" in their hosting control panel, install it that way - it takes 10 seconds and is very good.
