Hello Everyone,
This is starting to drive me insane and is possibly very easy for one of you more advanced people.
The scenario is that I have a base price for an item and wish to add an increased quantity at a higher price.
I have tried every way I can think of to add this to the product, but the issue is that when you try to add to cart, it won't go through unless you add the higher price item too, to be able to get to the checkout.
This means, that if you want the base price quantity, it is not available.
Could anyone please advise ?
Kind Regards

Re: Noob Question Concerning Attributes
If understood correctly, you want to offer 2 Options for the item:Sir Benson wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 2:31 am The scenario is that I have a base price for an item and wish to add an increased quantity at a higher price.
- Buy a single item for $
- Buy increased quantity for $$$
Therefore you have to add those 2 options.
Sounds like you have only added the second option.

Re: Noob Question Concerning Attributes
Are you saying that if a shopper buys more than 1 they pay more [in other words more expensive]? Or they pay less [in other words less expensive] ?
Pay More:
Buy 1 at 9.99
Buy 2 at the same time for (say) 25.00
Pay Less:
Buy 1 at 9.99
Buy another at the same time for an extra 5.00
Total 14.99
I'm slightly confused by this wording;
Pay More:
Buy 1 at 9.99
Buy 2 at the same time for (say) 25.00
Pay Less:
Buy 1 at 9.99
Buy another at the same time for an extra 5.00

Re: Noob Question Concerning Attributes
Many thanks for your replies heatherbell and burt.
Maybe I should clarify a little. My apologies if it wasn't clear, but it was the end of a long day for me.
The actual example is that I have an item priced at £24. I wish to add an option on this product for an available higher quantity with a higher price of £44. I'm requiring the original listed price of £24 to go through to checkout without the customer having to check the second option at the additional cost of £20.
At present, no matter which way I try, it refuses to add the original price of £24 to checkout without adding the second option of the additional £20 on the options boxes.
I have tried adding the original priced item as an optional at zero cost, but even this doesn't make any difference to the requirement for the second higher priced option being selected in the shop.
I hope this clarifies the situation for you.
Kind Regards.

Re: Noob Question Concerning Attributes
So you are saying;
Buy 1: £24
Buy 2: £44 (£24 + £20)
In other words, a cheaper price if you buy more than one.
You can do this with an Addon, I know there is at least one addon that does exactly this.
The addon way is far more flexible and easier to manage than trying to use attributes for this.

Re: Noob Question Concerning Attributes
Exactly the same scenario works as expected as shown in the Demo.Sir Benson wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 9:44 am I have tried adding the original priced item as an optional at zero cost, but even this doesn't make any difference to the requirement for the second higher priced option being selected in the shop.
For example, see Tomatoes - https://phoenixcart.org/demo/product_in ... ducts_id=5
It has price set as $1.99 in the product.
2 Options:
12
24 (+$4.99)
Choose 12
Add To Cart and the item is added with the base price of $1.99
Choose 24 (+$4.99)
Add To Cart and the item is added with the increased price of $6.98
You can see how that is achieved in the Admin Demo, see - https://phoenixcart.org/demoadmin/admin ... ibutes.php
Your scenario is exactly the same so a product with price set as £24 with 2 Options:
1
3 (+£20.00)
Impossible to guess what you have done wrong so double check your work.

Re: Noob Question Concerning Attributes
heatherbell .. you are an absolute saint !!
I guess it's the last time I try to add product and options after a 17 hour working day haha.
I followed the demo method and it was sorted in seconds.
Many thanks to you.
