ShipMondo and other external services

Post by Kofod95 »

I was recently in contact with ShipMondo (https://shipmondo.com/) - A service that allows you to use a lot of different companies to deliver your orders to your customers. I asked if they would consider making an integration for PhoenixCart. They replied that they would need more people to express interest in an integration like that, before they would do it, but if enough wanted it, they would make it happen.

This post has a couple of motivations:
-Would anyone else like to see an integration for ShipMondo?
-Are there any other integrations anyone would like to see?

If "yes" to any of the above, then take this as an encouragement to simply write the companies. Even if your the only person wanting that integration now, there might be more later, so there's no reason not to ask! One day, your wish may come true

@Kofod95 I was just about to post a shipping related question along the same sort of lines to yours.

We are just changing over to paying for all our Royal mail postage online and rather than create a spreadsheet with all the customer details and then upload that to the Royal mail system, I was going to ask whether anyone had created an addon for just such a thing. Something like you were thinking about may work for both systems.

Currently looking into using Gary's Batcher mod, which we currently use to create invoices which can download a CSV of customer information that we can then upload to RM and then we still need to update some of the information that they require. Its not too hard, but manually intensive if done daily.

A mod/addon that would link directly with the RM system would be so much better. I am thinking of contacting a developer to see what the costs of such a thing may be.

Have you tried writing RM directly? If enough do that, they might make and support an integration, which would be easier for you :)

I did contact them a few months ago and they had never heard of CE Phoenix, and would not produce anything as the customers needing something would be very low making it not worth their time. They do have a basic API though so it may be worth contacting a developer to see if its worth bothering with.

Hi
I would be interested in this addon.
