Greetings,
I'm new to PC, and this is my first post, so please forgive any breaches in protocol.
I'm using v1.1.0.2 and still tweaking and adding products to the storefront, which is yet to go live. My problem is a simple one, I'm sure, yet I've not been able to find the solution.
How can I rearrange the order that my products appear on the storefront?

Re: How to reorder products on the storefront
The front page module is ordered by newest products.
If you wish to do something different there, you could find an addon...
app.php/addons/free_addon/featured_products
is one. I'm sure there are more.

Re: How to reorder products on the storefront
Thank you burt.
It seems that the instructions for installing that particular addon were written for developers. They are of no help to me.
I'll either have to delete the products I need featured and add them again (and do this repeatedly every time I add any other item I don't necessarily want featured), or I'll keep looking for a shopping cart that works for me.
Thanks again burt.

Re: How to reorder products on the storefront
I have not looked at that particular addon so couldn't comment on how complicated it might be.
One mans complicated is another mans straightforward sometimes.
In general, most addons go like this:
1/ upload
2/ turn on
3/ configure
It should not be more difficult than that. Some have more moving parts, but 99% are pretty straightforward.
You could, of course;
a. find a different addon, that is easier for you
b. write yourself an addon (I get it, unlikely based on your last post) or get someone else with coding knowledge to write you an addon (we have dev's that can do that)
Then you could upload that addon so that other users might benefit from it.
You'd get loads of thanks I'd imagine.
If you decide to go to another Cart, would you come back and let us know which one was better for you? We've tried really hard to make Phoenix so very user-friendly (ie, no coding, just uploading and clicking here and there to change things) so it would be really helpful to know which other carts are doing better on that front. TYVM.
Please have a look at this thread, which shows what can be achieved cosmetically just by click click clicking:

@raiwa, the author of the Addon, is extremely helpful.
Just ask a question where you downloaded the Addon - Addon Discussion/Support here
You might even find your question already answered there.

Re: How to reorder products on the storefront
That's all the instructions say. Upload the files to the matching places in the store. Turn on in admin > Modules > content. There are zero instructions that require a developer.
There's a bit about handling things if the template is not override, which shouldn't matter here.

That's a great suggestion. I didn't know enough to even notice that option was there for me.heatherbell wrote: ↑Sun May 25, 2025 9:40 am@raiwa, the author of the Addon, is extremely helpful.

Full disclosure: it may be that it was getting late for me when I last posted, and my little brain was getting tired. I'll have another go at it and see if it makes more sense to me.

To give shopowners extra choice here is a very simplistic Featured Products;
app.php/addons/free_addon/simple_featured_products/

This module is a breeze to use once its installed, which is only a case of uploading the files to their correct place using FTP and then turning in a few modules that you need, which are all explained in the instructions.
It is so easy to remove or change products and you can even set an expiry date so they remove themselves. If you want you can just keep the same products there you can by not adding an expiry date. You can change the module title just by changing the text file to almost anything you want. We use 'Featured' again now, but have tried 'Back in stock' and all sorts of other things over the years.
Honestly cant say any more but give it a go.

Re: How to reorder products on the storefront
I did finally get it done. Thank you everyone for all the suggestions.
I'll post back in a couple of days(as time permits) with my views on what confused me and how I got it done. Some of the details might help others down the road.
