Re: FileZilla and htaccess/htpasswd
Do you mean...you have protected your HTTP admin area with htaccess/htpasswd ?
IE a box pops up asking for user/pass?
--
That is not connected to anything that Filezilla does, as Filezilla is an FTP client right ?
FTP is not the same as HTTP. Filezilla will work.

I am not here to build for you.

Re: FileZilla and htaccess/htpasswd
You'll need to go to Site Manager in FileZilla (you'll find it under the File dropdown) and set up your FTP site name and login name/and password details. They will likely be the same as those used to login to your CPanel. If not talk to your host.

Re: FileZilla and htaccess/htpasswd
I think if you're using the actual FTP protocol it will respect .htaccess files (and rightly so). But if you're using another protocol such as SFTP in FileZilla, .htaccess will not affect it.burt wrote: ↑Tue Nov 11, 2025 2:56 pm Do you mean...you have protected your HTTP admin area with htaccess/htpasswd ?

Re: FileZilla and htaccess/htpasswd
Thanks for the replies chaps.
Sorry for the question, I have been having a nightmare trying to get Filezilla to work. It was working fine then it just would not work, it was only today that I could finally sign in!!
It was just after I set the htaccess/htpasswd, so I wrongly presumed they were linked.
Anyway all is bright now.
Thanks again Shaun
