New Products - Remove item from current month

Sorry for the most trivial question. Is there a way to remove an item from the New Product listing ? (It's in stock & needed).

*Edit: I meant the "New for December" listing on the Index page, which of course includes New Products. Hope that makes sense.

I have tried changing the database Date Added to a random date last month (November), which obviously doesn't work.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Undo that. As if you do not undo that...the display will be awry when you eventually get what you want.

What does `month` mean?

Does it mean you want products to NOT display as new if they are added in the last 30 days?
Today is Dec 10, so products as far back as Nov 11 should not show?

Or does it mean that now we are in December, you do not want products to show if they were added to your shop in December - but they should show once January hits (but then none added in January would show) etc and so on Basically exclude products from showing if the month they were added is `this month` ?

Sometimes I need to do this, I find an old never to be restocked item and re-edit it to the new item I wanted not to be on the first page.

And here comes the Nag.. products need more status'e's' like 'Do not Reorder' and a archive so it does not show in admin searches unless checkboxed. And a item sales history trackable back to the client invoice.

Have a look at this admin reporting module - it will do so much, especially linking products sold back to customers.

Thank you Burt for your reply. I have decided to leave stock as is. One item of the many in the shop, displayed incorrectly through my own fault, is not worth worrying about now that it's mid-December and will be negated when January stock is listed.

I appreciate your input and will avoid the same mistake in future - lesson learned.
