Titles in Pages, where there is a Breadcrumb. Needed ?

I have been wondering, assuming a shopowner has a Breadcrumb.....are Page Titles needed ?

EG, with the Title

What's your opinion ?

A large headline is unnecessary for me.

However, I quite like this display:

That looks like the checkout "step" thing, but extended out into the cart as a first step.
Looks good, I like the concept very much.

For some pages will be a good option, for others... it's the <h1> I'm not sure how it affect to Google, but if no, need refact all h1, h2, h3...

BTW, no plan to remove the headings - it's just a discussion post.

I like not having the big titles - to my eye it is much nicer cosmetic to not have them

This is a very good point.

I wonder if the "end" bit of the breadcrumb (in the image `Cart Contents`) could be made into a `h1` but with a small font-size to suit the rest of the bread ?

Thinking outside the box and operating without coffee (a dangerous state for me), could the last bit of the breadcrumb be styled or dressed up in a way (ie more visible) that it would, in effect, serve as a replacement for the title?

I'm almost, maybe, sort of, pretty certain that this could be done. It would `just` be a case of giving that `end crumb` a different style. Eg; perhaps Bold, or an underline, a slightly bigger font , a colour to suit the main cosmetics of the shopowners theme...etc ?

Obviously doesn't suit the theme as it was just for a test, but...

Achieved by...

1. overriding the breadcrumb hook
-> into chosen template

2. changing L30 in that NEW file

to something like

I didn't bother removing the <h1> from the page, but that would be easy enough for most shopowners.
Now you have a somewhat styled h1 in the breadcrumb.

Whether this is a good idea or not, and whether this might cause unintended consequences...unknown.
