Found you all!

Post by Mort_Lemur »

So this is where everyone has been hiding.......

The original OSC forum is almost completely dead now, but gemini pointed me this way as a suggestion to migrate for php. 7 / 8.

Here we go again........ :geek:

Welcome @Mort_Lemur

Do you intend to migrate from OSC to Phoenix? (well worth doing)

Hi,

Going to have a good look round first before I decide. I'm currently running on a heavily modified OSC 2.3.4 on php 5.6 which is on borrowed time.

Heather, it is nice to see you again. I did look up your sites not so long back, I found one but couldn't find the other (or I may have been misremembering the URL).

Have a look around, current version is v1.1.0.6, I am trying to find time to release v1.1.0.7 - hopefully this month.
Any questions just ask - community is, I think, tighter & stronger than the old osC times.

Hi Gary,

Yes, we retired one of the sites almost 2 years ago to concentrate on the main one. Been keeping it going and improving it (with lots of help from Gemini)

I had a (brief) look at OSC4 but to be honest it is way too over-engineered and complex for my needs. I've been using OSC since 2009 as mort-lemur and previously since 2004 as a different user - so you could say I'm a fan of the "original", which from a quick look phoenix cart resembles (albeit vastly improved) So you will probably see me lurking round this forum.....

Welcome back!!!

At first it's a bit confusing, but then it's easier than osCommerce.

Regards!!

Assuming you do stick around after having a play, the best way would be to list the modifications, ranking them `absolute must-haves` to `nice to haves` to `not needed right now`. Post the list and we can advise on alternatives that do the same job or updated ... there might even be things in Core so the mod is no longer needed etc.

Hi Gary,

I think I will stick around, liking the look and feel of Pheonix.

I will put together a list of Mods, together with the suggested priority.

Some of the changes do not have official mods, as they are "home-made" to meet my specific requirements, example screenshots as below (there are about half a dozen or so of these):
