@Mort_Lemur Welcome back....I'm glad you found us. For Number 2 @BrockleyJohn Quick Updates is probably still available too but I couldn't find in the add-ons area. Maybe he'll chime in. Once again, welcome! It is nice to have you back.

Hi @Mort_Lemur

Glad you have found us all.

You will find that Phoenix is much changed from the old oscommerce versions. It is now so easy to use. No more code changing and merging like in the old days. Everything is now modular which makes things so easy to work with, and there is a hook for nearly everything to make our lives easier. If you get things right and keep core code clean updating is also really easy. Gary has done well.

Kind words @14Steve14 TY. It's been a community effort between us all; shopowners, developers, team. A decade of brainstorming and iterating code, all of us coming up with ideas (some silly, some impossible, some really great) and trying to make those ideas a reality. We've done well, the lot of us!

If you home-made these on 2.3.4...I am almost certain that you have the skills to recreate them in Phoenix, once you get to grips with the `slightly different` architecture.

If you wish I can give an example of phoenix admin page architecture (no code, just explication) compared to 2.3.4, that might help. Perhaps in a different thread, just shout if that would be useful. Note also that althogh there is a slightly different architecture, you can still use the older architecture no problem. Your pages might even work, more or less, if you just drop them in.

Did you manage to try 1.1.0.6 Heather? Any feedback or thoughts you have would be golden. Good, bad, indifferent - I'm open to all with the idea of solving problems and bottlenecks. TY.

@burt Well first looks are positive, different but similar to OSC 2.3.4 - Im concentrating on back end functionality first before i look at store front.

Had a play at writing a module (without modifying any core files) - an admin manual customer maker which I find invaluable when someone has called to make a telephone payment without first registering on the site. - anyone fancy giving it a try?

100% ! Would be interesting to see how you approached it, and how it compares to the one that's already floating about somewhere...
