If you want to disable checkout, you should look in the header_tag module, where you will find this (twice):

if (basename($PHP_SELF) != 'closed.php') {

and change to:

Code: Select all

if (basename($PHP_SELF) == 'checkout_shipping.php') {

The system will now redirect to closed.php when they hit checkout_shipping.php.

I.e. in shops where they deliver immediately (probably locally). And yes, I've ordered pizza (delivered) and sandwiches (for pickup) that way. At a guess, he has a single client who has this particular need and so has filled it.

If you primarily deliver via mail order, it probably won't be helpful to you as is. A similar mod, that instead of closing the whole store, just showed a "currently closed" or "open for walkins" message might be useful.

With some coding attention, it could also be used for something else, for example some shops have "online chat" between 9am and 5pm monday to friday.
