Setting Date / Time Format

Post by Nigel »

Setting Date / Time Format

We get the chance to select a timezone such as London during install.
Would it not be a nice option to set date format at this point rather than have to go into the files and manually choose what we need.
Perhaps have it as an option to be changed from within admin at any time ?

No, because format should be set per language/locale.

The greater problem is that our language is a bit schizophrenic. Some places it is British English. Some places it is American English. If these were separate locales rather than attempting to be the same language, it would be better. Note that someone could do this now, creating a British English translation and maintaining it (or American English for that matter). But no one has volunteered to do that.

I agree the British and American formats need to be separated.
That was another issue I came across in my initial foray into Phoenix.
I chose GB rather than EN as the language and was losing info on item tabs etc. that I had already entered when under the EN option.
