Header Logo / Banner Image

Is it correct to use the Header logo for a screen wide banner image or is there a better way ?
Replacing the current Phoenix image with one much wider works but brings in issues with image height and other things like the search box etc. floating around it.
Ideally I'd like a site width banner image that has text in front of it, both of which act responsively depending on media.

If you want the logo to be where it is now but full width so that the search box drops to the next level, then change the content width of the logo to 12. You also may want to change the content width of the search box and/or add another header module (to make it stay on the right rather than moving to the left). Or change the width of the breadcrumb and give the search box a sort order after it.

If you want something more complicated than that, then I don't really have a better solution than talking to one or more of the certified developers about coding something custom. Burt put some flexibility in the current design, but no design can be all things to all people. At some point, you have to work out what you need it to be. And if you need something outside the current design's limits, well, that's why we have the ability to add custom modules or templates (or both).

We have been playing with that recently and it can be problematic as it is literally not a one size fits all solution.
For example, certainly a logo does not look so good full width on an xl viewport so we have found that creating an image that works well for the purpose is necessary.

You could try my Store Logos Multi module:
