FAQs Tips & Tricks

Addons (sometimes known as Modules), whether they have been received from a developer or downloaded from the CE Phoenix Cart Addons Library, are usually in the form of a zip file. A zip file is compressed to make download easier.

After downloading to your computer, unzip the file. This is usually simply done by - right click → Extract all...

Uploading the contents of the unzipped Addon can be done in the control panel of some servers.

Alternatively, it can be done (more quickly and easily) with FTP software e.g. see FileZilla for details.

The contents of the unzipped addon will have a folder/directory structure that matches the structure of your store folders/directories.

Ensure the folders/directories and/or files are uploaded from your computer to the matching locations in your shop on the server.

After uploading to the server, the Addon/Module might need to be installed (using the Admin Dashboard).

The Addon/Module might also require configuration options to be set when it is installed.

Test the Addon/Module is working as expected.

If it is not, it can be possible that an issue occurred with connectivity between your computer and the server during upload.

In this case, uninstall the Addon/Module (using the Admin Dashboard) and then repeat the upload/install/configure process if necessary.

If you have difficulty doing this, employ the author of the addon or a developer to do it for you.
