Hi;
I use Paypal Express- Phoenix version-10.8.20, PHP 7.4
I am getting error when a client adds a multi attribute product to cart and select Paypal Express as payment option.
Select a Multi attribute product -> Checkout using Paypal Payment option -> Redirects to shopping cart with Error 'Your request is too long. Check URLs and other long strings. '
I tested it does not happen with 1 attribute products but it does happen with multi attribute products.
Please help me fix the issue.
Your help shall be deeply appreciated, Thank you in advance;
Very Warm Regds./

Assume it's an Addon, as 1.0.8.20 does not come with Paypal.
If so, which Addon ?

Re: Your request is too long. Check URLs and other long strings.
I have been using the bundled Paypal EC since I started with Phoenix, so have been upgrading since then.
Strangely it was working fine with multi attribute products till last 6 December 2023. But this issue was brought to light by a customer who was trying to purchase that type of product today and was facing this error.
I would like to add that I made no changes in any file in this past month.

Re: Your request is too long. Check URLs and other long strings.
It's a Paypal API error 11800.
Like it says;
A URL
Or
Some other string is too long.
--
What are the Long things that Paypal is complaining about.
Only you can find that out.
Ask Paypal for error_log.
I'll assume;
1. You are using some type of URL rewriting (this always makes URLs longer)
2. You have loads of attributes on a product each attribute would be 1{2}3{4} and so on. If there are lots, it might matter.

I have left message on Paypal for it , await their reply.
I do have 4 attributes on some products, It worked fine till last month......But why did this started appearing suddenly since December without me making any changes to code.
I am really confused on why is this suddenly happening...

I further checked seems URL are not the issue, neither it would not allow any product to go through.
I further tested each product in more detail for option 2 you suggested dear.
If I add a product with 5 default attributes, but chose only 1 or 2 of it - I can check out with it.
But if I add a product with 5 default attributes, but chose 3 or more of it - I cannot check out with it.
BUT I checked my orders before 6 December they even had 3 or more of them selected yet it worked dear...
Pls can you help me fix this dear. As I cannot do without product attributes it is a necessity for my product types.
Thank you again for helping me debug this problem...
Awaiting your valued reply;
Very Warm Regd.s/

Re: Your request is too long. Check URLs and other long strings.
In which case, until you resolve the underlying issue, probably best to remove PayPal Express (it has numerous issues reported) and replace with PayPal Standard.radhavallabh wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 6:48 pmI cannot do without product attributes it is a necessity for my product types.

Re: Your request is too long. Check URLs and other long strings.
Issue fixed dear;
It was the text of my new shipping module that triggered the issue. The fancy tag used in it caused the issue.
Thank you for all the help;
