You can change any text in a language file - see Change Language Files.

Sometimes it can be difficult to find which language file contains the text.

To find text in a language file, use a file editor such as Visual Studio Code or Notepad++ to search your backup folder - see Visual Studio Code

For our example: How to change Welcome email text.

  • Open Visual Studio Code.
  • Click File → Open Folder to browse to your back up Phoenix folder/directory.
  • Click Edit → Find in Files and enter the text you want to change in the search. In this case enter We welcome - this will show all files where that text occurs - in this case it shows create_account.php and it's location includes/languages/english and the code where it occurs
    define('EMAIL_WELCOME', 'We welcome you to ' . STORE_NAME . '.' . "\n\n");
  • Click on the code to open the file - make any changes - save - upload to server and done!
