From admin go to
Tools → Database Backup
- Click Backup to see this:
- No Compression (Pure SQL) is already selected - this can be left as is.
- Download only (do not store server side) checkbox is unticked - leave unticked to save on the server - tick this box to save to the downloads folder on your computer - it is advisable to do both.
- Click Backup - the database SQL file will then show on the page when complete if it is saved on the server - it will be saved in the file path shown on the page.
If the database has been stored on the server, it can be restored by:
- Click the file.
- Click Restore
If the database has been downloaded and saved on your computer, it must be restored by accessing your database on your host server account and importing the file - see phpMyAdmin
