Open web browsing software and enter the web address of your website in the address bar - e.g yoursite.com to start the installation process.

  • The first CE Phoenix Cart installation Welcome page will open - you will see this:

  • The next CE Phoenix Cart Step 1 installation page will open:

  • Complete the form.
  • For Database Server enter the default of localhost which is most commonly used by hosts otherwise your host will provide the correct value if the default is incorrect. To specify a port number other than the default 3306, use a colon, e.g. localhost:3308 will use localhost as the hostname and 3308 as the port number. For advanced configuration, e.g. for persistent connection, see https://www.php.net/manual/en/mysqli.construct.php
  • Enter the Database Username, Password and Database Name that were created when the database was created.
  • Choose Import Sample Data to install sample products which can be removed later. This is useful for first time users to see how the store displays and works.
  • Click Continue To Step 2

  • Enter your Store Owner E-Mail Address - this will be used in e-mails but can be changed at any time.
  • Create Administrator Username and Administrator Password - these will used to securely log in to the Admin Dashboard (Backend) of the website not accessible to the public - save these.
  • Enter a secure/random name for Administration Directory Name - make a record of this.
  • Select a Time Zone
  • Click Continue To Step 4

    • Store (Frontend) takes you to the Catalog index page also known as the Store or Shop, this is visible and accessible to the public.
    • Phoenix Forum takes you to the CE PHOENIX CART FORUM. There you will find the COMMUNITY SUPPORT FORUM open to all for help and advice. Register there and get involved. There is also a PHOENIX CART PRO VIP FORUM exclusively for Phoenix Cart PRO VIP members and packed with PRO VIP benefits. To join, see - https://phoenixcart.org/phoenix_gopro.php
